Exploring Limoges with a New Friend (28 août)

Wednesday night I met the other female American, Candice. Guy and I had ran by her room and left her a note during the day, so she came to introduce herself. We then planned to hang out Thursday so she could "show me the ropes."
Candice!
She is super cute, nice, and just a wonderful human being. She's also very active, so I'm hoping she'll rub off on me.

We met up and then she showed me how the bus works, particularly buying the tickets when you get on. With the buses we took the one that should have taken us to the Fac de Lettres stop (the campus that we would have courses at), but ended up going too far. We decided to walk back and look at the city some. Also, I was in need of a towel.

As we were walking down the street I see a restaurant and on part of their sign: SALON DU THÉ

If you know me, you know I'm a hardcore tea lover. Hence why the word "tea" is in my blog title.

Poor Candice did not know this, but now I think she's starting to understand my obsession.

We went in and got some water, and then I ordered a gunpowder green tea. Even though we were sitting in what felt like a sun room and I was sweating like a man, this was totally worth it.

Afterwards we found our way to the shop Eurodif, which is the cheapest place to find towels (at a whopping 7-8€! Sheesh.) They also have some cute flats I might have to go back for if all my shoes keep bothering me.

And by that time my feet were hurting, so we start heading back. We (or at least I) was super hungry, but I didn't really want to blow all my cash by eating out. As we were walking though, I came across this beauty!

My other favorite thing about France: the abundance of carousels.

Seriously, when I was in France back in 2008, every city we went to had a carousel. It's amazing.

I would also like to admit something that many people already know: I'm extremely accident prone. Just call me Danger prone Daphne.

While we were crossing the street (and this one was weird because the street was much lower than the sidewalk and median), and as I was stepping onto the median, I tripped and fell, busting up my right had. There went my shot at being a hand model.

But don't those towels look lovely?!

Later that day I realized I needed to go grocery shopping again. This time, I would not forget the water kettle! Candice went with me because she wanted to buy a small dessert to celebrate one of her dorm neighbors completing their internship.

Poulet roti crudités. Best sandwich I've found so far.

ANOTHER amazing thing about France: the desserts. They have so many.
and they are super super DELICIOUS. AND CHEAPISH.

They had a 6 pack of assorted tartes for 4€40. TAKE MY MONEY!

That's like the same price for one measly tiny tart at Amélies in Charlotte. Pfft.

Candice took two for her friend, and I tried to give her another two for herself, but apparently she's not that big of a dessert person. More for me!

Blueberry, Almond?, Apple, and Raspberry

So, so yummy.
