So this weekend has once again been very low key.
Candice, Lyndsie, Matt, and I planned to meet to practice French Saturday afternoon. I thought we might be meeting in my room or something, so I cleaned. Cleaning turned into rearranging.
Then it turns out we were meeting outside at a bench. Well, at least my room is clean(er).
The resto U is closed on weekends, so I resorted to another box of pre-made spaghetti for Saturday night's dinner. I contemplated making rice or regular spaghetti, but I realized that I don't have a lid for my pot (for the rice), and no real stirring utensils for spaghetti (or the mushrooms that I bought to sauté). I'm really sad about this.
HOWEVER. I saved the premade spaghetti microwave container.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?
It means I made Basmati rice in the microwave! Wooooooo! It made a complete mess with the water because I think I put too much, and also paper towels don't make a very good cover/lid.
My rice was perfect though. I mean, look at that deliciousness.
Thanks to my "Wilmington" Megan, I now have access to my library account from home, so I can download some books to my phone. Time to finish up Dancing with Dragons and the Sookie Stackhouse series! No judging. I totally started this series back in 8th grade, so over a decade ago and way before True Blood. #hipster.
Holy cannoli, was that really over 10 years ago? Let me go huddle in a corner and cry for minute. Hashtag old lady.
Basically, I spent the rest of the night reading Deadlocked, and now I'm on the final book, Dead Ever After. Ugh, the feels!! I love this series. Don't get me wrong, I love Anna Paquin as Sookie, but I adore book Sookie more. And the actual story is just so much better. True Blood just went kind of crazy starting season 2. I was almost #TrueToTheEnd, though, but then HBOGO doesn't work in France and I'm not tech savvy enough to know how to change my IP to think it's in the US. Sigh. One day I'll watch the finale.
Reading time!
..And then I might start the Sookie Stackhouse series all over again.
